After a long day on the road, it was time for another lie-in to reenergize and regroup. We got up and had a lazy morning with cups of tea, coffee, toast, and lots of catching up with Rhian and Seann. Coco, Bri, and Rhi took an afternoon trip to Caernarfon and had lunch at Victoria Dock with a view of the Menai Straits. We walked down to Caernarfon Castle and through the town.

This inn and restaurant, known since 1522 as "The Black Boy Inn," was a reminder that we were in a country with a very different and much longer history than the US.

We also went to Llangefni to one of Coco’s favorite craft galleries, Oriel Ynys Mon, and toured the Kyffin Williams exhibition. One of the most powerful displays was of this prolific artist's studio as it was found when he died, with evidence of so much work done and so much yet to do.

This map of the most common rock types found throughout Anglesea was interesting both for the wide variety of natural resources in such a small area, and because it was surveyed and assembled by a hobbyist in unprecedented detail, and accepted by the Geologic Survey for publication, which they really never do.

At the end of the day, we returned to Rhian and Seann’s to play with the boys, ages 6 and 4, and enjoy an Indian take-a-away for dinner. We had a cozy night chatting and laughing.
